How to use plurals in Italian

We've touched on plurals shortly when we were practicing our numbers, but now we're diving into a bit of theory to clear things up a bit!

Using plurals in Italian isn't as straightforward as it is in English, but in most cases it's pretty easy. Take note of these rules before you start practicing:

Masculine nouns/adjectives ending in -o change to -i.

• Example: il libro → i libri (the book → the books)

Feminine nouns/adjectives ending in -a change to -e.

• Example: la casa → le case (the house → the houses)

Nouns/adjectives ending in -e (both masculine and feminine) change to -i.

• Example: il fiore → i fiori (the flower → the flowers)
